Jenson Button – a snail with the brain of a gold fish driving a Formula 1 car

Jenson Button, the current Formula 1 world champion has been in the sport since 1997 and is definitely one of the most senior drivers in the sport. He began his career in Williams but was unable to score a good result in his early years. He continued his
career with Benetton that later became team Renault in 2002 but still the British driver was unable to prove what he is made of.
It was 2003 when he joined BAR for 3 years and this was a good break through for the British driver as he finished in 3rd place with 85 points in the drivers’ standings in the 2004 Formula 1 season. However, Button struggled once again in the
following years when he joined Honda for 3 years and scored the most disappointing results of his career.
Former Ferrari technical director Ross Brawn returned to the sport after a couple of years with his own team called Brawn GP. He asked Jenson Button to join his team for the 2009 season and Button agreed to his proposal. This was the best decision the British
driver ever made in his career as he won his first championship with the team and with the help of 6 wins and 9 podiums.
Jenson was offered a spot in McLaren after Heikki Kovalainen departed from the team and obviously, Button joined McLaren for the 2010 season. Jenson is currently in 5th place with 189 and is trailing the current championship leader Fernando Alonso
by 42 points.
However, every picture has a dark side as well and Jenson Button has clearly been one of the slowest drivers on the track since he began his Formula 1 career. Jenson is like a reflection of Jarno Trulli in a younger form as both of these drivers have a tendency
towards safe driving and never intend to take any risks.
Jenson Button has been claiming since forever that he is going to become an aggressive driver and take any chance that is provided to him. But race after race, Jenson fails to achieve this goal and ends up in the same place he began with. Button is a good
and consistent driver without a doubt; however a driver must be aggressive when a situation calls for it.
This has happened many times that even the commentators get frustrated with Jenson Button or Jarno Trulli when one of the top running drivers gets stuck behind either of them. Any driver who gets stuck behind either of these two can consider that he is not
going to catch up with the pack ahead of him and is going to be stuck behind Jenson for almost the rest of the race.
Jenson Button is one of those drivers who do not driver aggressively and quickly. That is not an issue initially but the fact that he does not let the drivers behind him pass him or drive quickly bothers his rivals the most.
This is the only reason why Jenson Button has lost track of this year’s championship and there is no way that he can catch up now. Even though he claims that he can still win the title this year, Jenson clearly does not have it in him to take risks and win
races in difficult and uncertain situations. An example of that is the Korean Grand Prix where Jenson finished pointless keeping in mind 2 of his top rivals Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber retired out of the race.
Jenson Button is going to drive the exact same way he is currently driving and there is no way that he can come back from this deficit. Plus the best part is, that Jenson always forgets his own statements and continues to race in the exact same manner without
giving a c**p.
