Jenson Button criticises Kamui Kobayashi’s driving after 2012 Korean Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
McLaren driver Jenson Button has strongly criticised Kamui Kobayashi of Sauber who caused his retirement in the opening lap of the 2012 Korean Grand Prix.
Kobayashi lost control over his car at turn three of the Korea International Circuit and bounced off Button and Nico Rosberg of Mercedes which eventually caused the retirement of both the drivers.
The British driver was very annoyed over his retirement in the preceding race and said that the Japanese driver should not be too aggressive in the start of the race.
“It's pretty poor driving standards considering this is pinnacle of motorsport,” Button said. “And it's such a long race ... race is not two corners long and some people need to know that and whether they will ever learn that we'll have to wait and see.”
On the other hand, the 26-year-old said that it was not a big issue. Moreover, he kept on driving his car after the unpleasant incident and faced a drive-through penalty. However, the Briton believed that this punishment was not enough for him.
“I don't think. You wipe out two cars who have got a very good chance of scoring points so no I don't think so,” Kobayashi said.
It will be important to mention that the 2009 world champion was also quite unpleased with Kobayashi’s teammate, Sergio Perez who braked too late during the start. Although, Perez is going to be Button’s teammate from the next season onwards but he didn’t
feel reluctant to contradict the Mexican driver after the race.
“I braked really late and I saw car climbing over mine on the right hand side and it was Sauber again. I don't know what's going on, it's pretty disappointing really,” Button added.
Besides, he said that he has no more hopes for winning the championship title but he will keep on delivering his best in the remainder of the season so as to continue scoring crucial points for his team and to cherish the moments in the sport.
Though, he could not score even a single point in the last race, nevertheless, he is still looking forward to come up stronger in the forthcoming races.
