Jenson Button dismisses criticism from Lewis Hamilton – Formula 1 news
McLaren driver Jenson Button has dismissed all the criticism from his old teammate, Lewis Hamilton and expressed his satisfaction over his achievement in his career so far.
Hamilton left the Woking based team at the end of 2012 and moved to Mercedes as Michael Schumacher’s replacement who has retired from the sport.
The 2008 world champion showed great delight after joining the Brackley based squad and said that he is getting more attention there as compared to McLaren.
However, Button completely discharged all the critical remarks from his compatriot and said that he is very much comfortable with himself. Furthermore, he said that he has received a lot of respect in his life and he doesn’t care what other people think
about him.
“I am comfortable with who I am,” Button said. “I don't need someone telling me. If someone doesn't accept me for who I am, that is their problem.”
“I have come from a place where there was a lot of control, where you had to do and say what you were told. While you have to remain respectful and polite, you can still be who you want to be,” he said.
It will be important to mention that the 2009 world champion has been considered as one of the most hardworking and talented drivers in the field. He has delivered some remarkable performances in his career until now and is positively looking forward to
achieve more in the future.
Besides, he said that although he has to travel a lot for the sponsor events, but it doesn’t have any kind of influence on his performance.
“So I understand from that point of view it is very busy here, your time is restricted because you are flying around, travelling more and doing more sponsor events,” he added.
The Briton took a convincing start during the preceding season. But, unfortunately he faced some technical and tyre management issues due to which he failed to keep up the level of consistency in his performance.
Let’s see how he performs alongside his new teammate, Sergio Perez in this year’s championship and whether he will be able to come up to the expectations of his fans or not.
