Jenson Button feeling confident for upcoming races – Formula 1 news
McLaren driver Jenson Button is feeling confident that they will be able to solve the ongoing issues and will improve their performance soon in the approaching 2012 Formula 1 season.
Button took an amazing victory in the season opener held at Albert Park in Melbourne, Australia and secured an impressive second place finish in the third race at Shanghai International Circuit in China. However, he has only scored 2 points in the last three
races as he struggled with the car’s setup and the tyre management.
Furthermore, after the last race in Monte Carlo, the 2008 world champion expressed that he is going through his most frustrating time with the Woking based team as he is facing many difficulties.
Nevertheless, he is hopeful that they will strike back in the races ahead and will find the solutions of the problems.
“That's awful but that's where it is right now. These things happen, so I've just got to get through it. But it's certainly my most frustrating time with McLaren, which is a fantastic team. Suddenly the last three races, I don't know where the pace and feeling
I get from the car has gone. It's tough but it's nothing we can't sort out. We will solve the issues. It's just whether we do it in time,” he said.
In addition, he is presently at 7th place between the pair of Lotus drivers, Kimi Raikkonen and Romain Grosjean, in the drivers’ rankings with 45 points.
On the other hand, his teammate, Lewis Hamilton has performed quite convincingly as he is currently standing at fourth place in the drivers’ championship with 63 points. Moreover, he is 4 points ahead of Nico Rosberg of Mercedes and 10 points behind Mark
Webber of Red Bull Racing.
It will be important to mention that the team principal of McLaren, Martin Whitmarsh has said that their drivers are very well capable of winning the championship this year.
Over and above, he said that they are trying their best to make the necessary developments and the significant preparations in order to enhance the pace of their car to perform well in the forthcoming races.
