Jenson Button feels positive for the 2013 Hungarian Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
McLaren driver Jenson Button has said that he is positively looking forward to perform well in the 2013 Hungarian Grand Prix which is to be held at Hungaroring on July 28, despite facing immense problems in the season so far.
Button has not been able to attain competitive points with consistency for his team in the season until now because of some huge technical and tyre management issues. Likewise, his teammate, Sergio Perez has also remained unable to show any impressive performance as yet.
Nevertheless, he has expressed that they have successfully made some essential step forwards to improve the pace of their car and are confidently eying to come up stronger in the approaching races. Besides, he stated that their tyre management strategy was very good in the German GP and they are quite happy with their run in the Young Driver Test held at Silverstone circuit.
“In Germany, our tyre-usage, strategy and management of the race was as good as it’s ever been,” Button said.
Additionally, he said that he shares some great memories with the Hungaroring where he claimed his first ever grand prix victory in 2006. Therefore, he stated that he is going to Hungary with a positive state of mind
“I have so many positive memories of racing at the Hungaroring,” Button commented. “Obviously, I won my first Grand Prix there in 2006, which was incredibly emotional – and also feels such a long time ago! – and I also won my 200th race there in 2011.”
“That was one of those days when everything went right, the car was a dream to drive. Every victory is special, but that’s right up there as one of my favourite days in the car,” he added.
Currently, the 2009 world champion is standing at 10th place in the drivers’ championship with 33 points. In addition, he is ahead of Adrian Sutil of Force India and behind Paul di Resta.
It will be interesting to see whether the Woking based squad will be able to resolve their reliability issues or not and how the British driver performs in the season ahead.
