Jenson Button hints Paul di Resta can be his teammate in future – Formula 1 news
McLaren driver Jenson Button has hinted that Paul di Resta of Force India can be his teammate in future as the rumours about Lewis Hamilton’s quitting are booming.
Di Resta has joined Sports Partnership which was founded by Button along with his manager, Richard Goddard. Moreover, Button’s PR guru, James Williamson will handle the issues of his compatriot from now on.
The 2009 world champion said that he is very pleased to have someone in his company on whom he can really trust.
“We talked about that scenario about having another driver in the Sports Partnership. I completely trust Richard and James and everyone who is involved in the company,” he said. “It had to be someone that I trusted but also thought was very talented and
who I could work with in a way.”
It will be important to mention that there are many speculations that Button’s teammate, Lewis Hamilton will leave the Woking based team after the expiry of his contract at the end of this year.
Meanwhile, the reports are stating that Di Resta has been seen as a potential replacement of Hamilton in McLaren for the coming year.
Although, Button refused to make any kind of comments in this regard, however, he expressed that he has no issue in working Di Resta. In addition, he said that he has spent some valuable time with his fellow citizen during his training days and admired his
talent and skills as a driver.
"I spend a lot of time with Paul. We train a lot together; we spend a lot of time cycling in the south of France together. I think he is very, very talented and he has got his head screwed on. That is the important thing,” he added.
The Briton is having some harsh time with Hamilton after the twitter issue. Additionally, he has said that he is not going to support the 2008 world champion is his title chase and he is trying his best to make his own mark stronger in the championship fight.
Above and beyond, it will be thrilling to see whether McLaren’s driver line-up changes in next season or not.
