Jenson Button is refreshed for 2012 Chinese Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
McLaren driver Jenson Button has said that he is refreshed for the Chinese Grand Prix which is going to be held at Shanghai International Circuit on April 15, 2012.
Button had an amazing start this season with a remarkable victory in the season opener held at Albert Park in Melbourne, Australia. However, the British driver had a collision with Narain Karthikeyan of HRT and finished at 14th place in the second race at
Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia.
Nevertheless, despite the disappointing second GP, Button is feeling positive for the third race. Moreover, when he was asked that whether his unfortunate performance at Sepang would have an impact on the race ahead, he replied in negative.
In addition, he said that he is eagerly looking forward for the upcoming race and determined to perform well.
“It makes you a little keener to get back in the cockpit as you're always a bit more determined to be looking ahead rather than looking back. But, like I say, it doesn't really make any difference,” said Button.
Besides, he said that he has got enough time to make the necessary preparations for the next race. He also said that there is a long season ahead for which he needs to keep himself in shape.
He added that his performance has been good at Shanghai in the previous races while he said that he has always enjoyed his drive there.
“In fact, the three-week break has been extremely relaxing - I was able to get away, relax and keep training. It's still the start of a very long season, so it's good to keep fit and refreshed. I've usually gone well in Shanghai, it's a circuit I really
enjoy and I'm looking forward to the race weekend,” he said.
It will be important to mention that the team principal of McLaren, Martin Whitmarsh has said that he expects a very close tussle amongst the rivals in the Chinese GP as everyone will come up with the best of the preparations for the race.
Nonetheless, he said that they have won 3 out of 4 last races held in China and are hopeful for the race ahead.
