Jenson Button is set to take part in a triathlon during the summer break – Formula 1 news
Jenson Button is set to set up his own triathlon in the UK.
Button has recently decided to use his Jenson Button Trust to host a triathlon to raise money for the charity called the “Help for Heroes Charity.” The British Formula 1 driver has been keeping himself busy with organising this triathlon which is a way to
keep himself fit for the when the season resumes.
Some other drivers have also been involved with triathlons for the same reasons, and at the moment Nico Rosberg of Mercedes has shown interest in Button’s triathlon.
Recently Button had to close his restaurant down, because it was unable to generate enough revenue to sustain itself. The economic downturn has taken its effect and people have not been able to go out for fine dining as much and that is why it had to be
closed down said Button.
This event would be a good cheer up for the Brit. It will provide him a good opportunity of keeping himself fit and doing some charity in the process.
“I've been talking about hosting my own Triathlon for a while now and am delighted it's finally happening,” Button said. “I've been lucky enough to punish myself in triathlons around the world and it's become a big part of my life and the perfect way to
train for F1. I wanted to put on something different and give competitors more of a unique experience, which with the format and the venue I'm confident we'll achieve.”
Channel 4 will be giving coverage to the event on Sunday 19th August. The trust is giving away some goodies as well to people who would like to join in on the triathlon.
All entrants will receive the following:
Entry into TWO races A special Jenson Button event T-Shirt Exclusive race medal Complimentary lunch and post-race barbeque Access to the post-race party and entertainment Exclusive goody bag
