Jenson Button looks forward to perform well in 2013 Chinese GP – Formula 1 news
McLaren driver Jenson Button has said that he is looking forward to perform well in the 2013 Chinese Grand Prix which is going to be held at Shanghai International
Circuit on April 14.
Button struggled a lot in the season opener held at Albert Park in Melbourne and could only score two points with his ninth place finish. Later, in the Malaysian
GP, he failed to score any point due to a wheel gun issue even after taking a very good start.
Despite a disappointing start to the season, the British driver is not feeling upset and is positively aiming to fight back in the next race.
The 2009 world champion has said that they are targeting to make some essential developments in their car so as to attain better results in the upcoming race.
“In a funny way, the Chinese Grand Prix almost feels like something of a reboot of the start of my season. Taking home two points from the first two races obviously
wasn't what we had in mind at the beginning of the year, but I think everybody in the team has picked themselves up and really attacked the task of addressing our car's issues. We know where we're losing performance, so I think we're actually all looking forward
to seeing just what we can achieve in Shanghai.”
Besides, he said that they are working very hard to keep on making the significant advancements in their car in order to compete well with their rivals in this
year’s championship.
Additionally, the team principal of McLaren, Martin Whitmarsh has said that they are engaged in the process of developing their car and are hoping to make a strong
come back in the third round of the season.
It will be important to note that the Woking based squad faced some huge reliability and tyre management issues in 2012 because of which their drivers could not
secure competitive results with consistency. Nonetheless, their hopes are high for this year’s championship even after a struggling start and they are targeting to make the most out of their development process in the season ahead.
