Jenson Button says Mark Webber should apply pressure on Sebastian Vettel – Formula 1 News
McLaren’s driver, Jenson Button, has said that Sebastian Vettel’s supreme run in the 2011 Formula 1 season so far can only be halted by his team-mate, Mark Webber.
The Briton said that pressure from within the Red Bull team can produce some errors in Vettel’s run or otherwise, as Hamilton said, Vettel’s dominance in the 2011 season can be related to Michael Schumacher’s reign.
Button, stated, “Sebastian is obviously a great driver but his team-mate needs to put him under pressure more, I am sure Mark is trying his best but it is not happening yet. We all want to see Seb put under pressure.”
The British racing driver further added that the young German will be tested under pressure and he will make some errors in the process.
Looking at the results of the first four Grand Prix of the 2011 Formula 1 season, it is obvious that no driver has been able to keep the defending champion in check. Apart from the Chinese grand Prix, where a bad strategy from the Red Bull camp saw Vettel
lose his position to Lewis Hamilton, Vettel is proving to be unbeatable.
In Australia, Malaysia and now in Turkey, Vettel has completed a perfect run from pole-to-win. The defending champion is well on course to successfully defend his world championship in the 2011 season.
Button thinks that if Vettel is not stopped right now, he will be far ahead of the racing peck. The Briton commented, “If Seb gets away at the start and gets into the lead you are not going to beat him. He has got the quicker car and if he doesn't make mistakes,
you are not going to beat him.”
Vettel’s closet running driver is his team-mate Webber and Button thinks that only the Australian can stop the German from making history, in the 2011 season. If Vettel defends his title successfully in 2011, he will become the youngest back-to-back championship
winner, a record previously held by Ferrari’s, Fernando Alonso.
Nevertheless, McLaren, Ferrari, Mercedes, and Renault have made some good steps to beat the fast running car of Vettel.
