Jenson Button talks his way out of a parking ticket in London – Formula 1 news
McLaren driver Jenson Button talked his way out of a parking ticket recently as he was about to be issued with a parking ticket by one of the traffic wardens in Central London recently.
“Jenson did pay and display but this was not visible to the traffic warden when he began issuing the ticket. His friend pointed this out when he came out of the shop and the warden agreed not to issue the ticket,” a spokesperson for Jenson Button told
the media.
The 2009 Formula 1 world champion parked his car outside some of the shops in London’s Sloane Square.
A small crowd gathered around the vehicle as well since he was on a McLaren sports car which is quite rare and the people admire such vehicles. After getting this attention, he was issued with a parking ticket by the warden despite the fact that Button
already had a pay-and-display ticket for his vehicle.
The warden however claimed that it was ‘not visible.’ Button talked his way out of the situation which was bound to happen since it was not required.
Nevertheless, these sorts of incidents will not have any impact on the 2011 Formula 1 season and the next race is expected to take place on August 28, 2011 in Belgium. The drivers will get to take some rest before they head back on the track once again
and for McLaren, the next couple of races are going to be very crucial.
Despite the fact Button won the previous race in Hungary, his chances of challenging the championship leader Sebastian Vettel are quite low as he is around 100 points behind while his teammate Lewis Hamilton on the other hand is over 80 points behind
him and has a better chance of challenging for the title.
Let’s see how the remainder of the 2011 Formula 1 season shapes up.
