Jenson Button targets victories in the next two grands prix – Formula 1 news
McLaren driver Jenson Button has said that he is confidently looking forward to claim victories in the Belgian and Italian grands prix which are going to be held at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps and Autodromo di Monza.
Button scored an amazing win in the season opener and later secured an inspiring second podium finish in the third race. Conversely, he struggled with the lack of downforce and poor tyre management in the next six races.
Nevertheless, he came back tremendously well in the German GP in which he managed to secure second podium finish after taking a start from 6th grid position. Afterwards, he performed quite convincingly in the Hungarian GP and came 6th
after setting off from 4th grid slot.
The 2009 world champion has said that he is positively aiming to perform at his best in the upcoming season. Furthermore, he said that he has a very good affiliation with the tracks of the next two races. In addition, he admired the overall environment of
Spa and Monza.
Besides, he said that the results of the last two races have helped him in getting back in action and his objective is to keep on performing at his best in the approaching races.
“You couldn't really ask for a more spectacular double-header for F1's return: Spa is the daddy of them all, one of the all-time great grand prix tracks, and Monza is one of the most historic and evocative circuits on the calendar,” said Button.
“They're each places with their own unique atmosphere. I've got some really great memories of both circuits, but I've won neither. Given our pace in the last few races, I go forward feeling positive about rectifying that over the coming weekends,” said the
British driver.
He added, “I'm really looking forward to getting back to work.”
Additionally, he said that he has remained busy in relaxing and training during the summer smash. Over and above, he praised the performance of his team and asserted that he is eagerly waiting to test the major updates in their car in the free Friday practice
of the Belgian GP.
