I will be blubbing like a girl but I will be emotional.”
In addition, he admired the performance of Fernando Alonso of Ferrari who took an impressive victory in the European GP after setting off from 11th grid position. Meanwhile, he said that he is also hoping to achieve victory in his homeland.
“He [Alonso] is a clever driver, so that is why he is dangerous, but I hope his winning is over, he has his home grand prix and hopefully we can take over now,” he said.
The British driver is presently standing at 8th place in the drivers’ championship with 49 points. Furthermore, he is ahead of Sergio Perez of Sauber and behind Romain Grosjean of Lotus.
Although, he faced difficulties with the car’s setup and tyre management in the last few races, however, he seemed comfortable behind the wheel of his car in Valencia where he secured 8th place finish after setting off from 9th grid
position.
He became the first race winner of the current season after winning the Australian GP and has been considered as one of the most competitive drivers in the title chase.
In addition, McLaren have been trying their best to make the considerable advancements and the essential preparations to improve the pace of MP4-27 for the forthcoming races so as to fight for this year’s championship title.
