Jenson Button to use Lewis Hamilton’s car setup for 2012 European Grand Prix – Formula 1 news
McLaren driver Jenson Button has said that he is going to use the car’s setup of his teammate, Lewis Hamilton for 2012 European Grand Prix which is to be held at Valencia Street Circuit in Spain on June 24.
“I guess the first thing you do is set up the car like the other car, and that's what we'll do initially,” Button is quoted by Sporting Life. “There will be settings that Lewis prefers more than anybody else does because that's how he sets it up. I won't be as quick as him on those settings, but then we can work from there and find a set-up that works for me.”
Button has been seen struggling with the setup of his car and the tyre management and has only been able to score 2 points in the last four grands prix. Furthermore, he has not been able to make his way into the final session of the qualifying in the last three races.
At present, the British driver is standing at 8th position in the drivers’ championship with 45 points. Besides, he is ahead of Sergio Perez of Sauber and behind Romain Grosjean of Lotus with 8 points.
Moreover, he delivered an incredible performance in the season opener held at Albert Park in Melbourne, Australia and won the race after starting from second place in the grid.
Conversely, he could not score even a single point in the second race at Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia as he came 14th even after beginning from second grid position. Nonetheless, he made a strong come back in the third race at Shanghai International Circuit and secured an inspiring second podium finish after qualifying for 5th grid position.
Even though, he has been facing difficulties with finding his pace and felt quite disappointed on his poor performances in the preceding few races.
Nevertheless, he is confidently looking forward to perform well in the forthcoming races so as to make his position stronger in this year’s championship fight.
Above and beyond, the 2009 world champion is undeniably one of the most talented drivers and it will be interesting to see how the season progresses for him.
