Jeremiah Bishop of Team Cannondale overcame Matthys Beukes after an intense battle at the Trans-Sylvania Epic 2012
Jeremiah Bishop of Team Cannondale Factory racing proved his dominance during the stage 4 of the Trans-Sylvania Epic 2012.
He rode brilliantly during the event and restricted Matthys Beukes form the top spot. He finished almost the same time but had to settle for the second spot.
Justin Lindine of Team Redline finished 19 seconds behind at the third spot with Aaron Snyder of Team Scott Pro Mountain Bike and Drew Edsall of Team Kenda/Felt achieved the third, the fourth and the fifth positions in the respective order.
"I wanted to show the guys I was back. I treated the start like a World Cup”.
“I kept pushing Matt and pushing Matt, trying one side then the other, until I got by because I knew the first person out of the singletrack had the advantage in the finish”.
“And I wanted this stage win".
Sue Haywood of Team Stan’s No Tubes Elite Women succeeded during the women’s category of the race.
Cheryl Sornson, Jenny Smith, Sarah Kaufmann, Kristin Gavin and Alice Pennington finished at the second, the third, the fourth, the fifth and the sixth positions in the respective order.
Haywood was delighted after crossing the finish line as she briefed to media, “We [Cheryl Sornson (Team CF) and I] went back and forth a bit”.
“but it was really hard to get away from each other. One of us would put in a big effort and the other would roll up on the next descent".
"It just wasn't worth the effort to make the repeated accelerations today," Haywood’s teammate noted.
