Jeremiah Bishop wins the stage 4 of the Trans-Sylvania Epic 2012
Jeremiah Bishop of Team Cannondale Factory Racing rode brilliantly during the stage 4 of the Trans-Sylvania Epic 2012 and bagged a useful win.
He crossed the finish line in an impressive time of 2 hours, 28 minutes and 20 seconds and occupied the top podium spot.
Matthys Beukes finished at the second position while Justin Lindine of Team Redline, Drew Edsall of Team Kenda/Felt and Barry Wicks of Team Kona achieved the next four positions.
Jeremiah was delighted after the stage win and noted that the victory was very important for her to gain confidence back.
"I wanted to show the guys I was back. I treated the start like a World Cup," he briefed.
“I kept pushing Matt and pushing Matt, trying one side then the other, until I got by because I knew the first person out of the singletrack had the advantage in the finish. And I wanted this stage win”.
Sue Haywood, Cheryl Sornson, Jenny Smith, Sarah Kaufmann and Kristin Gavin achieved the top five positions at the women’s category.
Ezekiel Hersh of Team Honey Stinger Bontrager/ Breck Epic, Kenneth Wehn of Team Stan’s NoTubes Elite Masters and Jonathan Davis of Team Trek Bike Store Boulder Racing topped the Master men 40+ classifications.
Jim Matthews, Scott Thomson and Jim Wilson topped the Master men 50 + classifications.
Stage victory helped Jeremiah Bishop with a first overall victory after the men stage 4 classifications.
Barry Wicks is 6 minutes and 28 seconds behind at the second position with Drew Edsall, Aaron Snyder and Matthys Beukes are holding the third, the fourth and the fifth positions.
