Jeremy Lin believes New York Knicks have the potential to grab NBA World Championship - NBA Update
Just over a month ago, people were heavily criticizing New York Knicks for their dismal performance in the condensed season and questions were being raised on the role of Coach Mike D’Antoni and few players in the team.
However, all those voices have gone completely silent now.
Thanks to Knicks emerging star Jeremy Lin, who within a span of 30 days has not only turned around things for himself, but for the team as well, Knicks, who were 8-15 at the start of February, have all of a sudden improved to 17-19.
Lin has guided Knicks to a 9-3 record after taking the position of starting point guard and believes his team are now a strong contender for the NBA championship.
“Everyone’s goal is to win a championship,” Lin told the New York Post. “It’s a very tough thing to do. I think we have the talent to do it. I know we have the talent to do it.”
Although he is confident his team will progress very well now, he is also aware that he needs to be consistent, in order to take the team to the title.
“This is a long process,” Lin said. “I need to make sure I’m not getting complacent and that our team continues to climb. And we want to be able to get into the top half of the East and make a push in the playoffs.”
In the absence of stars like Amar’e Stoudemire and Carmelo Anthony, who were out due to known reasons, it was Lin who single handedly guided the team to most of the wins. So, it is safe to assume that if Lin manages to stay consistent until the end, Knicks
might just reach where Lin wants them to be.
He has provided the team with the momentum that they desperately needed and now the other two stars Amar’e and Carmelo are also back. With these three controlling the offense, the Knicks will be a completely different team and there is absolutely no doubt
that even if they don’t reach the finals, they would at least clear the first round of the playoffs.
One half of the season has already passed and second one would be starting from 29th February. Knicks have the rhythm with them and they would love to continue with the good form and so would Lin.
