The youngster signed for OGC Nice from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-Lyonnais-c40130 this summer and despite picking up an injury on his Ligue 1 debut for Les Aiglons, is loving life in Cote d’Azur
After a lot of speculation, Jeremy Pied finally secured a move to OGC Nice in the final few days of the summer transfer window. Initially, Claude Puel, the new coach of Nice, wanted to attain the services of Clement Grenier as well. However, the former Olympique
Lyonnais coach failed to be reunited with two players who made their senior team debut for Les Gones under Puel’s management.
In the end, Grenier stayed at Nice in order to directly replace http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Yoann-Gourcuff-c37416 who is yet again out for a few months due to a serious knee injury. Now, Pied is looking to impose himself in Les Aiglons starting XI and show the world his talent which was always
there but unfortunately, remained unfulfilled at Lyon.
The 23-year-old was keen on doing well for his new club but an over-exhuberant challenge left him injured.
Now, the speedy winger admits that he pushed himself too hard in a bid to give a strong impression.
"I pushed it a bit too hard. It was my first match and I was out to make an impression," said the Grenoble born Frenchman.
However, the youngster should not be blamed for the rush of blood especially after the warm welcome he received upon his arrival in Nice. Pied says that from the moment he landed in Cote d’Azur, he was given a lot of love and added that the club’s family-like
impression has made things easy for him.
"Straight away I felt like I've known everyone here for a long time," he explained. "It's a very family-style club, with a warm atmosphere both on and of the pitch as well as in the city. You can feel the passion of the fans, who are real aficionados. People
bail the players up in the street to talk football."
It was Puel who introduced Pied to Ligue 1 football and the winger knows the benefits of reuniting with a man who he feels can help him develop further.
