Jeremy Powers win the Trek USGP of Cyclocross Smartwool Cup 2012
Jeremy Powers of Team Rapha-Focus registered an essential victory after his heroic performance during the Trek USGP of Cyclocross Smartwool Cup 2012.
The reigning US Champion launched a late attack in the race to help himself with an important victory during the American event.
He took a total time of 1 hour and 10 seconds to complete the event, restricting his major opponents.
Powers’ teammate Christopher Jones finished 7 seconds behind at the second position with Geoff Kabush of Team Scott-3Rox Racing, Daniel Summerhill of Team Chipotle-First Solar Development Team and Ben Berden of Team Raleigh-Clement claiming the third, fourth and the fifth positions in the respective order.
Yannick Eckmann of Team Cal Giant Berry Farm looked good but failed to finish amongst the top-five falling just one second short of Daniel Summerhill at the sixth position.
Adam Craig of Team Rabobank, Tristan Schouten of Team Optum Pro Cycling, James Driscoll of Team Cannondale p/b Cyclocrossworld and his teammate Timothy Johnson occupied the seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth positions respectively.
Jeremy is now leading the Elite Men-Overall standings after the round 4 with total number of 184 points in his back pocket.
Ryan Trebon of Team Cannondale p/b Cannondale is 71 points behind at the second position with Christopher Jones of Team Rapha-Focus further one point behind at the third spot.
Ben Berden of Team Raleigh-Clement (109 points) and Timothy Johnson of Team Cannondale p/b Cyclocrossworld (95 points) secure the fourth and the fifth positions in the respective order.
Yannick Eckmann of Team Cal Giant Berry Farms/Specialized leads the U23 men-Overall standings with Evan McNeely of Team Specialized Canada and Cody Kaiser of Team Cal Giant Berry Farms/Specialized holding the second and the third positions respectively.
