Jeremy Toulalan joins Malaga on a four-year contract from Lyon
– Spanish Primera Liga news
Spanish Primera Liga side, Malaga, continue with their summer spending spree as they have completed a successful swoop of Lyon’s midfielder Jeremy Toulalan by offering him a four-year contract.
The contract will keep the French international at La Rosaldeda until 2015, however, the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Total-c40747 transfer fee of the 27-year-old has still not been revealed by the Spanish club. Rumors in the Spanish media suggest that Malaga have agreed to pay a transfer
fee in the region of 10-15 million Euros for the midfielder.
Having started his professional career with FC Nantes in 2001, Toulalan was acquired by Lyon in 2006. He appeared for Les Gones in over 140 matches and helped the French club claim successive Ligue 1 titles in 2006 and 2007. But a disappointing last season
with the French outfit forced him to make a move away from his homeland.
Malaga’s official website has confirmed the signing of French player, as it states, “Malaga has reached an agreement with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-Lyonnais-c40130 this morning [Friday] for the transfer of the international player Jeremy Toulalan. The midfielder, who has also
reached an agreement with [Malaga] for the next four seasons, will sign his new contract in the coming days and will be presented in the last week of this month.”
With years of international experience and having played a backbone role for Lyon throughout his stay at Stade de Gerland, Toulalan is expected to make positive inroads for the struggling Malaga side. The Spanish side finished 11th on the Spanish
Primera Liga table, and barely saved their top flight status after evading the drop zone by a mere three points.
The young guns at Malaga will look to profit from his immense international experience; the 27-year-old has 36 appearances for Les Blues under his belt and featured at both 2010 World Cup and Euro 2008 finals.
