Tottenham Hotspur forward http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jermain-Defoe-c18359 has revealed he is confident of his side defeating Arsenal a second time this season at the Emirates Stadium in their English Premier League fixture over the weekend.
The Spurs are currently at third place on the Premier League table, seven points behind league leaders Manchester City. While they may not be favourites to win the Premier League title this season, they are definitely favourites to secure a UEFA Champions
League spot.
There is no doubt that Tottenham Hotspur are favourites to secure a win over Arsenal in the Premier League fixture since the Gunners are currently low in the confidence department. Shortly after being knocked out of the FA Cup, they suffered a 4-0 defeat
to AC Milan in the first leg of the round of 16 in the UEFA Champions League.
While Defoe was certain the game would be tough, he was confident in his side’s ability to secure all three points which would come in handy if either of the Manchester sides were to struggle later on in the season. He revealed his side were eyeing the league
double on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 this season.
Defoe said in an interview:
“It's going to be a difficult game but I'm confident, obviously with the way we're playing.
Everyone's firing and team spirit is fantastic which I think is always important if you want to try and achieve something.
We've got a great chance to go there and get three points.”
After the consecutive defeats to Sunderland and AC Milan in the FA Cup and UEFA Champions League respectively, Arsenal will be looking to return to winning ways with a victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League. If they are successful, they will
have stopped the Spurs from earning their first north London derby double in 20 years.
The match will be anyone’s to win since both sides will be somewhat equally matched. Where Tottenham Hotspur have the advantage in terms of confidence, Arsenal will have the home advantage since the match will take place at the Emirates Stadium on this Sunday.
