The Tottenham Hotspur striker Jermain Defoe has come out and stated that he won’t be requesting an exit from Tottenham Hotspur in the January transfer window despite the fact that he has fallen below the pecking order at White
Hart Lane under Harry Redknapp’s guidance.
Harry has preferred to use http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jermain-Defoe-c18359 in the starting line up of his club’s matches.
Defoe who was a favourite at Tottenham before the arrival of Van der Vaart has failed to develop an understanding with Van der Vaart and this is seen as one of the bigger reasons as to why Redknapp has opted to confine the former West Ham man to a limited
role off the bench.
Speculation has been rife around the English forward’s future as with the European Championships coming up in 2012, Defoe would want to make it into England’s squad for the tournament by starting more games, something that might
propel him to seek his future away from White Hart Lane. However the striker recently came out and dispelled such talk as he confirmed that he will be staying at Tottenham Hotspur.
He said, "Fans who have probably read things come up to me every day and say, 'Don't leave the club.' I was at a http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Charity-c38784 dinner the other night when a fan came up and said it to me. I've done it before - when I went to Portsmouth
and scored my goals to remind people what I can do - but I am committed to Tottenham. I love the club and I love the fans. It’s a really important time for the club. Everyone wants to play their part and I'm no different."
He added that he is worried about missing out on England’s squad for the European Championships but he is going to give himself every chance of making it to the tournament by scoring and capitalizing on every chance to start at
Tottenham Hotspur.
