Schalke midfielder Jermaine Jones has accepted the eight-match ban by the German Football Association and has admitted that he will not contest it.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/United-States-c3034 international is guilty of “extreme sporting misconduct” after his stamped Marco Reus in the DFB-Pokal game against Borussia Monchengladbach. The DFB control committee concluded that the midfielder had deliberately
tried to hurt Reus in the match which is why they forced the ban.
Jones admitted that he made a mistake and accepted the ban. He accepted that it was an assault and deserved a penalty. The midfielder apologized for his actions to Monchengladbach and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marco-Reus-c23733 and made sure he will not be involved

“I don't want to downplay this; it was an assault which requires a certain penalty. But there have been similar assaults which were then punished in the competition in which they took place,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
Schalke Sporting Director Horst Heldt admitted that the club will not appeal against the ban as it is a deserved punishment. He insisted that the German Football Association has made the right decision as the player was clearly
at fault.
Heldt, on behalf of the club confirmed that they will not try to oppose the decision as they have weighed all the possibilities and have come to the conclusion that the challenging the decision would be of no use.
“Jermaine has also personally apologized to Reus and has demonstrated remorse and reason in the aftermath of the incident. I am sure he has learned from the situation. We accept the DFB's punishment,” he stated.
