The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/AZ-c38571 Alkmaar defender insists that he enjoyed his spell at his former Scottish Premier League side St Mirren due to their Dutch style of play, and he joined Killie for the same reason.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jeroen-Tesselaar-c18372 has confessed that Kilmarnock’s Dutch style of play, which is implemented by their manager Kenny Shiels, convinced him to join the club. The 23-year-old recently joined Killie on a Bosman move after his contract at St Mirren expired earlier
last month.
The versatile defender, who started his professional career at AZ Alkmaar, has insisted that has no regrets of plying his trade in the Scottish Premier League, and has stressed that a move to play under the tutelage of Kenny Shiels is certainly a perfect
move for him.
“I thought Killie was definitely the right move for me. I really enjoyed St Mirren especially the way we played the game, and Killie play with the same style. It’s the Dutch style so that suits me”, Tesselaar was quoted as saying to Daily Record.
The Dutchman, who played 33 league matches for the Saints during his one-year stay at St Mirren Park, went on to express his delight over the squad’s preparations while revealing his side’s ambition for the upcoming season.
‘From training with the players the level of our squad is very good and we can have a good season. I hope we can achieve a place in the top six and maybe European football”, Tesselaar added.
Scottish Premier League giants, Rangers FC, will not be competing in the Scottish top tier following the club’s entrance into liquidation process due to their mounting debts.
And Tesselaar has stressed that the Gers’ absence will provide other clubs an opportunity to shine at the highest level.
“With Rangers not in the league any more that gives opportunities to other clubs. It’s a good place to play and I enjoy it here. And with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314 out of the SPL other clubs, such as Kilmarnock, now have a great opportunity to do well”, the Dutchman concluded.
The former AZ Alkmaar stopper will be hoping to continue performing at his best while donning the jersey of Killie in the 2012/13 season.
