Jerome Boateng: I want to play as a centre back – Bundesliga News
Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng has insisted that he wants to play the game as a centre-bacl, as opposed to the full back spot he is being asked to fill.

http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-Van-Buyten-c10095 and Holger Badstuber have been performing that role instead, forcing Boateng to play on the right side.
The German international told that he is a regular centre-back and would love to play in his usual position. He admitted of his colleagues’ success in that role but believes that one of the two players could also play on the right hand side.
Boateng, though, expressed satisfaction at his current role in the team and doesn’t want to put his place in danger by demanding a change in position, which might unsettle the whole setup.
The Bavarian giants are currently going through a 12-match unbeaten run and manager Jupp Heynckes certainly has no reason to alter his formation. The Reds have also not conceded a single goal for the last 12 games in all competitions since last letting
Borussia Monchengladbach get past them in the season’s opening game on August 7.
Bayern are also atop their Champions League group, with six points from two games, having already beaten the likes of Manchester City and Villarreal.
The defender has played a major role in club’s success thus far and Heynckes is unlikely to react to Boateng’s desire. While talking to goal.com, the 23-year-old added, “This is the coach's choice. He knows that I feel more comfortable in the position
of central defender."
Jerome also hailed Bayern’s effort the other day against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Bastian-Schweinsteiger-c7374.
He further enthused, "It was an important victory for us. We obviously prepared well for the game, and as we had already shown, we played a lot on the flanks. We exploited the gaps well and made a lot of pressure on the flanks."
Boateng has been an integral part of Bayern Munich since joining from Manchester City during summers. Based on his current run of form, the player is likely to win a place in Joachim Low’s squad for Euro 2012.
