The Bayern Munich defender has claimed that Rothosen are very strong at home and three points will not be easy.
The Bavarian giants are currently leading the Bundesliga standings table with 40 points from the 19 game played. They face tough stiff competition from Borussia Dortmund and Schalke as the two teams are level on points but only
lag behind due to an inferior goal difference.
Boateng hailed Thorsten Fink’s impact on Hamburg since his arrival in October. The manager has lost just once so far in the Bundesliga and has pulled the side from the bottom of the table to 11th now.
The German international admitted that Hamburg will be looking to redeem themselves after the defeat to Borussia Dortmund in their last home game. He stated that the opposition will be looking to defend and look for opportunities
on counter attack.
“Thorsten Fink is a good coach for HSV, and it certainly won’t be as easy as the reverse fixture. They won’t play like that against us. They’ll pull everyone back and play their own counter-attacking football,” he was quoted as
saying in an interview to Bayern Munich’s official website.
The former Manchester City player insisted that he has no problems playing as a right-back for Bayern Munich and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-Van-Buyten-c10095.
“I don’t have a problem playing at right-back, and it might even be an advantage ahead of Euro 2012. It’s very irritating to be without both Van Buyten and Rafinha,” he continued.
Jerome Boateng further added that his side is not thinking of the UEFA Champions League fixture against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/FC-Basel-c39079. He stated that the main focus currently is to win the next game against Hamburg.
“We’re not thinking about the Champions League or the DFB Cup. We’re focused on the Bundesliga!” he concluded.
Jerome Boateng has thus far made 14 league appearances for the Bavarian giants, mostly as a right-back, since his move from Manchester City in the summer last year. He will partner Holger Badstuber in the centre of defence for
the clash against Rothosen.
