Defender Jerome Boateng content of winning trophies with Bayern Munich- Bundesliga news
Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng has stated that he is determined to win trophies with his new club. The German insisted that he is now happy as he wanted to come back to Germany and is now hoping to help the club regain its
form after a disappointing campaign last year.
Boateng joined Bayern for a reported fee of 13 million Euros from Manchester City in this summer’s transfer window. Both clubs finally reached an agreement after the deal almost stalled last month over the transfer fee demanded.
City wanted 20 million Euros for the player whereas Bayern were willing to pay in the 10-12 million range.
The former Hertha http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Berlin-c7536 and Hamburg SV player was elated with the move and stated that it is a dream move for him to play for one of the biggest clubs in Europe. He stated that he had openly made it clear that he wanted a transfer
to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 and is relieved that the deal went through.
“I'm glad I'm now here in Munich. I'm very happy because I've made it clear very early on that I wanted to [move] to FC Bayern,” he was quoted as saying in an interview to Bayern Munich’s official website.
The German international remains confident of some very successful years ahead with Bayern Munich and reiterated his desire to win trophies in the future. The player added that he is looking forward to the start of the new campaign
and wants to be fully fit before the season starts.
Boateng has set an aim to return to the national side and wants to be part of the side that travels to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Poland-c2983 next year for the European Championships.
“I think [success] in the four years is very much possible. This is the FC Bayern, the biggest club in Germany,” he concluded.
Jerome Boateng has previously played in the Bundesliga with Hertha Berlin and Hamburg SV. The player appeared 114 times for Hamburg SV in his three years at the club before opting for Manchester City last season.
