Jerome Boateng convinced that Edin Dzeko is heading to the Eastlands
Manchester City's German defender Jerome Boateng, has gone on to state that he is more than convinced that Edin Dzeko will soon be on his way to Eastlands.
The Wolfsburg captain and Bosnian international has been rumoured to become the biggest signing of the January transfer window soon. This is because the player has expressed his intentions of parting ways with the German outfit
on a number of occasions in the last couple of weeks.
Boateng has gone ahead to state that every time he took on the striker when he was at Hamburg, he caused him a handful of problems to deal with. The defender has also acknowledged the fact that the striker can be more than just
a handful and he would be the perfect fit for the Manchester City squad.
Boateng is reported to have said, "Dzeko is a very good striker. Of course, we would love to see him at City because he is a quality player."
"He played against Hamburg a few times whilst I was there - and he scored.
"I have marked him a few times and it is always a good, physical challenge. He holds the ball up well and knows how to use his body.
"He is not so quick but is very good in front of goal and would work well with our other strikers."
It had been previously reported that both teams had agreed on a certain fee to secure the transfer. However, now, it seems that the fee is being revised by City, who are looking to keep in mind the new ‘Financial Fair Play’ rules
that are going to be introduced at the end of next season. As a result, the team is reported to be unwilling to pay an outrageous amount for the player, but are going to try to strike up a much reasonable deal.
City are currently performing rather well in the Premier League and if they happen to secure the signature of Dzeko, then according to experts the team might even stand an outside chance of securing the Premier League title at
the end of the season.
