The Bayern Munich defender wants to be a part of the national team and has also expressed his desire to play regular football at the club.
The German international joined the Munich giants in the summer transfer window last year from English side Manchester City. The player completed the move for an estimated 13.5 million Euros and signed a four-year contract with
the Germans.
Boateng claimed that he has settled quickly at Bayern Munich and admitted that the environment has been perfect for him in the past few months. The defender insisted that he made the right move to join the Bavarian giants and that
his experience at the club would surely help him grow as a player.
“The Bavarian mentality is perfect for me. Munich is very comfortable and you settle in quickly. Joining Bayern was exactly the right step for me,” he was quoted as saying in an interview to Bayern Munich’s official website.
The former Hamburg player expressed his desire to be part of the German national team squad that will leave for the European Championships in June this year. He remained hopeful that he is still in Joachim Low’s plans and is prepared
to play in a full-back position.
“I hope and I think I'll play on the right at the European championship,” he continued.
Boateng insisted that winning the Bundesliga will be Bayern Munich’s priority this season and they have a very good chance of doing that as they lead the standings table at the moment. He further added that the club can also do
well in the DFB-Pokal and the UEFA Champions League as the side has been in sensational form this season.
The former Manchester City man revealed that winning Europe’s premier club competition has always been his dream and claimed that the chances of achieving that feat have grown as he is at a great club now.
“The league is the priority. Winning the cup in my hometown of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Berlin-c7536 would be tremendous. And winning the Champions League is my dream,” the 23-year old concluded.
Jerome Boateng has so far made only 12 Bundesliga appearances for Bayern Munich this season and has so far failed to make his mark at Allianz Arena.
