Jerome d’Ambrosio says he is happy with progress in 2011 season so far – Formula 1 news
Virgin Racing Team driver Jerome d’Ambrosio has said that he is happy with his progress that he made in the 2011 Formula 1 season so far.
D’Ambrosio also stated that he is not worried about his future in Formula 1 at the moment. In addition, he mentioned that he is focusing on doing the best possible race for the team in the remainder of the ongoing season.
Talking to reporters, the 25-year-old driver said, “As you can imagine as a rookie you take up a lot of information in a short period of time with non-stop races, so it would be good to have these weeks to just back off a little bit, process everything and
then come back fresh and ready for Spa.”
In July 2011, Marussia Virgin Racing issued a report in which they mentioned that the team driver Timo Glock would stay with them until the end of the 2014 Formula 1 season, but the second driver of the team was not confirmed.
On the other hand, the team chief Graeme Lowdon stated that Jerome is doing a good job for them in the ongoing season.
He talked to the media and mentioned, “You see with other drivers coming in for the first time, its not an easy formula to adapt to because of everything that's around it, and you cant really talk too highly about Jerome's performance so far.”
Both of Virgin drivers, d’Ambrosio and Timo Glock are still slow on the grid. They have been unable to score points for the team in the season so far due to lack of their car’s pace.
In the Hungarian race weekend, d’Ambrosio was at the 19th place in the end after putting all of his efforts during the race. His teammate Glock finished his Budapest race at the 17th place after starting from the 20th position
on the grid.
D’Ambrosio has a contract with the Virgin team until the end of this year. Let’s see whether the team re-signs him as a teammate of Glock for the next F1 seasons or not.
