Jerricho Cotchery and Chris Perry for Carson Palmer and Isaac Bruce?

I have Cotcherry and Perry and would be getting Palmer and Bruce. First, my team (we start QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1RB/WR, 1TE, 1DST).

QB: Bulger, Campbell

RB: Westbrook, Gore, Ryan Grant, Chris Johnson, Jerious Norwood

WR: Wes Welker, Jerricho Cotcherry, Brandon Marshall, James Hardy, Bryant Johnson

TE: Chris Cooley

Defense: Bucs

K: Bironas

I'm hesitant about this trade because of the state the bengals are in. Palmer broke his nose, Rudi is released, Ocho Cinco's battling injuries and will be for the whole season, and TJ has hamstring problems. So I really don't think this is a great trade for me despite "expert's" rankings, but I am also afraid of having Bulger lead my team at QB. What do you guys think.

  1. If I were you, I would not do that trade.

    Here are the reasons:

    1) Jerricho Cotchery is set to have a monster season.  He and Favre already look to have good chemistry together and the weak-armed Pennington is now gone.  In addition, Cotchery is on Favre's right side, which is his first read.  This should lead to more receptions, yards, TD's, etc.

    2)  In a recent interview, Marvin Lewis indicated that Chris Perry could be a 3 down back.  This would make his stock soar.  Also, there should be no questions about his talent as he is a former first round pick.  The only worry with Perry is his ability to stay healthy, but if you don't need him, you'd be better off waiting until after he's had a few good weeks.

    3)  Carson Palmer is a good QB, but with questions surrounding Chad Johnson's (now Chad Ocho Cinco) health, I think he will be less effective.  In addtion to making Johnson less of a force, it will also lead to double teams on TJ Houshmanzada.

I actually like Bruce this year with Martz in as the new OC in San Francisco, but because of the previous reasons I stated, I feel that you are giving up more than you are getting.  If you want a QB, I think Bulger should be fine for the begining of the season, but if you don't like him, package him with a hot bench player later in the season.
