Jerry Dipoto confident for his pitching offence - MLB Update
The Los Angeles Angels general manager Jerry Dipoto knows as he has lost one of the most talented pitchers when Zack Greinke signed with Los Angeles Dodgers this offseason.
Earlier when Greinke was linked with the Angels, many started to believe that this will be an ideal situation for the South Los Angeles’ baseball franchise.
However since Greinke joined hands with the Dodgers, the experts started saying that the Angels now will face tough competition in next Major League Baseball season.
On the other hand, the Angels GM Jerry Dipoto is showing optimism on his pitchers despite media assumptions that the Angels will face tough competition after losing Zack Greinke.
Some say Greinke wanted a long term contract but the Angels management was reluctant to give him lengthy deal. Greinke later signed with the Dodgers and started his new era with the Angels’ long time rivals.
Regarding Dipoto’s starting rotation’s outlook, he explained in detail and spoke with much briefness on every aspect of the franchise.
"We are prepared to. You have to make smart decisions. We are always looking to get better, but what we've done in the last couple of days is we've put ourselves in position where we are fortified and stable, We aren't going to have to make further additions," Angels GM said.
Dipoto said with confidence, "We are a pitching staff that needed to fortify our innings to make sure that we can field, 1 to 12, as competitive a pitching staff as we can field, I feel right now we have 11 guys and every one of those guys is a competitive major league pitcher.”
Dipoto was also confident saying that currently Angels possess some of the most talented pitchers in the entire league. C.J. Wilson along Jered Weaver and Jerome Williams are considered most feared pitchers in the league and if they showed their true offensive prowess, the Angels will be tough to beat for ant leading Major League franchise.
Wilson also showed consistent performance in the last MLB season where he achieved 3.83 ERA along with 13-10 win-loss, 173 strikeouts and 1.34 WHIP.
