frazier, i believe, would stay close enough to walcott to eek out the decision, but frazier also had the power to stop walcott late in the fight.

Walcott was a much better fighter than most today give him credit for. Very tricky and could hit too, but Frazier gave no room and didn't take any rest IMO, Joe, Frazier that is, takes out Walcott late.

Jersey Joe Walcott is a very under rated fighter, in his prime he was a very skillful boxer with respectable knock out power and a decent chin HOWEVER he did have some flaws, for some reason Walcott became a better boxer as he got older, he lost fights during his physical prime against questionable opponents such as joey maxim who by today's standards would not even be a heavy weight,abe simon who was never that great of a fighter and tiger jack fox.....although he later avenged a lot of losses it is questionable that he lost against these guys in his physical prime, Frazier on the other hand was easily the third best heavy weight of the golden era after ali and foreman and he was natural heavy weight, he had the knock out power to hurt walcott and the chin to take walcott's best shots, in my opinion frazier is very under rated, people forget that prior to his first loss to ali and after he beat ali the first time they met he was defeating every single opponent that stepped into the ring with him sending them to the canvas with his terrific left hook, even today many boxing fans rank him in the top ten heavyweights and for good reason, there aren't that many guys that could beat joe frazier and jersey joe walcott is not one of them, frazier had all the tools and the power necessary to beat him.
