  1. Big George and his power bombs take out Jersey Joe in 4. George can take a beating(See Ali ,Holyfield and Moorer fights)

  2. Personally i cant understand why people keep talking about this big school bully type Foreman in the same breath as greats such as Walcott.Foreman was aptly described as 'The Mummy' by Ali,and for good reason! He was a big lump of wood and Joe Walcott, from the footage i have would have outpointed the mummy in 1990,or for that matter any other time.

  3. I'd rather see JJW fight the younger Foreman (they'd be closer in size) . . .but to answer your question. . . I'd say Foreman would probably knock him out late in an action-packed slugfest.  I always enjoyed Jersey Joe's style of boxing, slipping, and avoiding punches.

  4. Oh come on! George is a far bigger man than Jersey Joe was. No contest.

  5. walcott........... forman might win but he would have to do it in the first 5 rounds. watch ali vs. forman rd 7 on you tube that is why i think walcott wins.

  6. Jersey Joe Walcott was about as crafty a fighter as you could ever see in a heavyweight and very deft at avoiding and slipping punches and countering effectively.  He also punched pretty hard too.  He gave Rocky Marciano a boxing lesson and also endured some very hard shots along the way before the punch that changed boxing history.  Up until that point he was dazzling Rocky and landing very hard punches that would have probably ko'ed a lesser man.  Jersey Joe was good enough to beat Ezzard Charles twice and should have been awarded the controversial decison when he fought Joe Louis for the title in 48 after knocking Joe down twice with surprising quick punches.  George Foreman of course is  a big, menacing power punching fighter that also had a pretty good jab that sets up his power punches.  Make no mistake about it, if George really catches Joe, he may very well win, but would he?  As anybody that knows boxing realizes, styles make fights and Foreman is made to order for Jersey Joe Walcott.  Although I rank Foreman higher on my all time rankings, I believe that Walcott was too smart and crafty for him.  Walcott would outmaneuver and countepunch Foreman and tie him up on the inside.  George would land some good punches but would not be able to follow up on them.  Walcott wins by unanimous decision in my opinion.  Endurance is a big factor here regarding my answer and Walcott had much better endurance and stamina than George and would survive the early rounds.
