Jesse King grabs Boys 100m breaststroke gold – 2013 GHSF Australian Championships
Jesse King of Forster Aquatic grabbed gold medal of the Boys 100m breaststroke on first day of the 2013 GHSF Australian Age Swimming Championships in SA Aquatic & Leisure Centre, Adelaide on Monday, April 8.
The 17-year-old King showed no mercy to his opponents in the 100m discipline as he rushed his way towards the finishing wall for first position. With his commendable pace, King demonstrated his gruelling efforts and secured the top of podium for gold medal.
He enjoyed a commendable lead over his toughest swimmer and tapped the wall for first position with an effort of 1 minute and 03.35 seconds.
He remained 0.09 seconds ahead of Robert Evans of Peel Aquatic, who followed him on the finishing end for silver medal by producing a time of 1 minute and 03.44 seconds.
The second fastest swimmer was followed by Jared Gilliland of Nudgee, who was nearly two strokes slower and surfaced on the finishing end for bronze medal by posting an effort of 1 minute and 03.80 seconds.
The third position holder was followed by Tomas Elliott of Trinity Grammar, who stayed just 0.01 seconds behind and posted a time of 1 minute and 03.81 seconds.
Fifth fastest spot of the race was obtained by Jam McKechnie of Starplex, who stayed 0.11 seconds slower and posted a time of 1 minute and 03.92 seconds.
Sixth fastest spot of the race was secured by Tyrone Dobrunz of Tigersharks, who stayed 0.24 seconds slower and surfaced on the finishing end by producing a time of 1 minute and 04.16 seconds.
Seventh fastest spot of the race was secured by Jake Packard of Noosa, who stayed 0.14 seconds slower and hit the wall with the timing of 1 minute and 04.30 seconds.
Eighth fastest spot of the race was obtained by Jul Layton of New Zealand, who was 0.34 seconds behind and posted an effort of 1 minute and 04.64 seconds.
In addition, King expressed happiness over his gold claiming effort while the position holders received medals and accolades for their notable efforts at the medal distribution ceremony after the event.
