Jesse Reid, who is a Hall of Fame trainer, reckons Juan Manuel Marquez, who is the current World Boxing Association Super, World Boxing Organisation and The Ring Lightweight World Champion, is not a real
challenger to the eight-division world champion and the current World Boxing Organisation Welterweight World Champion (Super Champion), Manny Pacquiao.
Manny ‘Pac-Man’ Pacquiao will take on the Mexican Dinamita, Marquez, in their much-anticipated trilogy bout on November 12, at the MGM Grand Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada and Reid believes Top Rank Promotions
has done a great job for Pacquiao by picking up Marquez.
Reid in his exclusive interview at Fighthype.com stated Top Rank has deliberately picked up an old boxer for Pacquiao so that there fighter wins the fight. Though he agreed Marquez is a very dedicated
fighter who gives his 100 percent during the fight, he claimed he has turned too old now.
Reid told Fighthype.com, "Top Rank has done a masterful job with Pacquiao. They are picking the right guys, older guys, guys who give up leverage in order to fight him. Marquez has busted his balls to
get ready for this fight, though I’m not sure if it’s legitimate or it’s fake, but he’s a dedicated athlete. He’s also too old and too small and even if his body is looking good, Marquez is not a real challenger to Pacquiao right now."
In the end Reid mentioned the undefeated American legend, Floyd Mayweather, who is a five-division world champion and the current World Boxing Council World Welterweight Champion. Reid insisted Mayweather,
who holds a perfect record of winning all of his 42 professional fight, including 26 of his wins coming by the way of a knockout, is the only fighter out there who can beat Pacquiao in the ring.
“To be fair, there is only one fighter out there that people think that can beat him and that’s Mayweather because Mayweather finds a way to win,” Reid added.
Pacquiao-Marquez 3 is a highly-anticipated fight as their previous two fights ended up in a controversy. However, Pacquiao versus Mayweather is one of the most eagerly awaited bouts in the sport at the
present situation. Let’s see if Pacquiao and Mayweather gets close to each other and sets up a super-fight.
