Jessica Hespeler conquers 200 yard freestyle title: 2011 High School State Championships
Jessica Hespeler of JR Ledyard overtook her rivals during the evening session of the 2011 High School State Championships, in New Haven. The meet was held in Connecticut from November 18-19.
More importantly, Hespeler topped Girl’s 200 yard freestyle race by smashing her opponents in a victorious time of 1 minute and 50.19 seconds. In the meantime, Jessica Hespeler’s challengers including Madeline Smart of JR Brookfield notched silver title
in the respective race by banging the finishing hurdle in a winning time of 1 minute and 52.12 seconds. In addition, the third spot went to SR St. Joseph’s Katy Luchansky in an impressive blot of 1 minute and 52.24 seconds.
JR Amity’s Anna Lu grabbed fourth place honours in the respective splash by smacking the finishing barrier in a time of 1 minute and 55.17 seconds, while Brittany Driscoll of FR Lyman Hall settled at fifth place in a spot of 1 minute and 55.21 seconds. The
sixth place in the respective heat went to Caitlin Cole of SR Trumbull in a time of 1 minute and 56.22 seconds.
Moreover, Cara Egan of SR New Canaan performed well throughout the splash and picked seventh place by thrashing the finishing hurdle in a time of 1 minute and 56.24 seconds. Meanwhile, the swimming effort of SR Pomperaug’s athlete, Ashleigh Monroe was impressive
as she went on to claim eighth position in the respective race by striking the finishing divider in a time of 1 minute and 56.32 seconds.
Furthermore, Jennifer Tavares of SR Woodland got ninth position by claiming the finishing wall in a time of 1 minute and 56.74 seconds. Additionally, Kristina Tougas of JR Wethersfield settled at tenth place in a time of 1 minute and 56.86 seconds. Alexandra
Aliapoulios of SO New Canaan finished eleventh in a time of 1 minute and 57.12 seconds, while Christina Lavery of SR West Haven settled at twelfth place in a blot of 1 minute and 57.51 seconds, respectively.
The scintillating effort of Jessica Hespeler paid off as she went on to secure the gold medal after the session’s completion.
