Jessica Korda is fond of golf
Jessica Korda who is the child of two retired professional tennis stars including her dad, Petr who jumped to number two position in the world’s rankings after triumphing in the Australian Open championship. In spite of the fact that her parents were involved in the game of tennis at the international level, Jessica when deciding to select a sport for her to practice and advance, tennis was marked off the list at a very young age.
"I just couldn't bear tennis," she said, then giggled. "I mean let's admit it, there was so much movement required in it and, let's accept it, what little child actually wishes to do, all that movement? I was just seven or six years of age when I stopped playing tennis and chose to concentrate on golf.
"Golf was just the kind of game I seriously fell in love with, it is the one I extremely enjoyed practising as much as you have to practice, so I focused on it. I however do like to see tennis but I actually take a racket not more than once in a year, for sure".
Now, with seventeen years of age, Korda, who qualified for the upcoming United States Women's Open at Oakmont Country Club, will attempt to repeat her thrilling 19th-place end as a fifteen years old girl at the U.S. Women's Open championship back in 2008. She is putting a lot of effort for her future task in her professional career which is turning pro.
She said she has a lot more sloppy events this summer but would wish to get into qualifying school this season just a few months prior to her graduation from the high school in December and thus retorts the life that her parents led as professional players.
"I had a stunning life, I got to visit a lot of different places," Korda said. "I've experienced a lot over the last few years and I am simply fond of travelling and I love to play my favourite game golf, so I'm really putting up all my efforts in order to make it happen this season”.
Jessica, who resides in Bradenton, Fla is an American golf player but has on several occasions also lived in her parents' home land Czech Republic. She said that she has been to a lot of areas all around the globe, but less in contrast to Pittsburgh.
There are even lesser golf courses that match Oakmont.
"I like Pittsburgh the most, I genuinely do, it is an amazing place, it is stunning," Korda said. "And this is a superb golf course. It is very tough, but it is also very stimulating because it is definitely one of the few courses I've contested that you actually have to think about every single hit you execute or you can get into big fuss. It should be exciting."
Korda's dad, Petr, who works as her attendant but didn't want to be questioned for this story, contested in international tennis for a period of eleven years and knocked down Marcelo Rios in straight sets to grab the Australian Open title back in 2008. He fell down to Jim Courier in the French Open back in 1992 in his only two appearances in Grand Slam tournaments finals.
Korda's mom, Regina Rajchrtova is also a retired Czech professional tennis ace and seems like her seventeen years old daughter who is really fond of golf will get a lot of encouragement and success at the international level if Jessica continues to carry on with her passion and hard work for the game.
