Jessica Korda loves to recount her victory at Royal Melbourne

Jessica Korda is still mesmerised by the victory she clinched in the Women’s Australian Open in February this season, as she has said that she will try to repeat what she did at Royal Melbourne.
Jessica recently spoke to the media and told in detail about her stellar victory at the Women’s Australian Open in February.
The younger American star had no idea of her fan base in Australia before she set foot on the course of Royal Melbourne.
Jessica was in for a big surprise when she reached the final moments on the course, packed by a devoted audience, cheering and appreciating her performance.
Jessica recounted the moment when she finally won her first LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) triumph, saying the first thing she did after winning was spring into the air.
She said that this is the way her father used to celebrate his victories in tennis matches.
Despite her victory, Jessica said that she was in a bit of a shock after being declared the winner, as the field she faced was tougher than she had anticipated.
With leg stretched apart, the flying scissors kick often helped Petr, Jessica’s father, cheer up his fans in the court. Jessica said that she likes to celebrate victory like her father used to.
"I got much higher than he did. Now, it's a family thing," She said of the scissors kick she made at Royal Melbourne.
The most important thing for Jessica was winning the title in Australia. Since the Women’s Australian Open is one of the most prestigious events on the LPGA Tour, snatching a triumph is often thought of as a big breakthrough.
Winning the tournament was not the only thing that boosted her confidence, a jump in her position in the world women’s golf rankings also lifted her hopes to keep her moving ahead.
Jessica saw a sudden increase in her ranking, jumping to the 82nd right after she hoisted the trophy.
Her career has many similarities with her father, Petr, who also recorded his biggest victory in Melbourne, at the Aussie Open in 1998. Jessica said that her victory reminded her of her father.
Petr said that he liked what his daughter did this year and this is something the whole family is proud of.
He quipped by saying that he and his daughter should go for the Australian citizenship due to their stunning performance in that country.
Jessica said that she did not believe that she had won the event, as the field featured big names on the LPGA. She said since she did not let her nerve overcome her, she beat her rivals with ease.
"I really didn't have any expectations, but I know I worked hard — harder than I have in the last couple of years. I was hoping for something good," Jessica said.
