Jessica Lim, a talented shuttler from Australia and the representative of Western Australia (WA), proved her supremacy on court when she overpowered Queensland Titans’ Chiao Ling Cheng in Women’s Singles match at the 2012 Ede Clendinnen Shield Sydney on
Tuesday, August 28, in Australia.
The impressive Jessica, who has been putting up great show in all of her fights in the tournament, had to dig into her arsenal and she managed to defeat her talented opponent in a hard-fought three-set contest.
Jessica could not prove her worth in the opening set and lost easily but she fought back into the match and took the followings sets with a tremendous margin and won the match by taking 35 minutes on court.
In the meanwhile, Chiao Ling showed her brilliance by playing positive and impressive badminton in opening game. But she lost her focus and control in the game and the following both games slipped away from her hands in an easy fashion.
The opening set was impressive in the first few rallies when both shuttlers put up wonderful show and managed to stay close.
However, Jessica made a few mistakes in the opening half and eventually remained behind on score board until the break.
After the mid-game interval, Jessica tried to focus on court as she could not put up strong resistance and eventually lost the set with a 15-21 score on the board.
In the following set, Jessica played completely difference game as she employed aggressive shots and remained successful in taking a wonderful lead until the end of first half.
After the one-minute break, Jessica continued her flawless run without facing any problem and ultimately finished off the second game with a thrashing 21-11 score on the board.
In the decider, the aggressive Jessica was everywhere on court as she played with precision and took a stunning lead until the break.
After the mid-game interval, Jessica continued playing top class badminton and ended up the game with an incredible 21-8 score on the board.
The impressive Jessica won this Women’s Singles match in three games with a convincing score of 15-21, 21-11 and 21-8.
