Jesus Soto Karass to take on Moroccan Said El Harrak in a non-title bout – Boxing News
Jesus Soto Karass, the former NABF welterweight champion, will return to the ring after the time lapse of three months and will try his level best to collect a win over rookie Moroccan pugilist Said El Harrak in a 10-round bout which will be held on May
26, 2012.
The ring for the bout will be set up at AVA Amphitheater situated in Casino Del Sol, Tucson, Arizona, United States and the event is being jointly promoted by Showdown Promotions and Bob Arum of Top Rank.
The above duo will headline the event whereas the non-title six-round bout between Jose Benavidez and Josh Sosa will co-headline the Saturday night showdown. Jesus, 29, though clearly has an upper hand over his opponent yet he is going through a real tough
time of his career.
The Mexican proud is on a continuous lose streak and has lost four of his last five bouts. The orthodox pugilist has not won even a single bout since November 2009. It’s not that he is a low-calibre pugilist as he has proudly held the NABF welterweight gold
and even the WBC Continental Americas welterweight title several times.
Soto, also known as the ‘Renuente’, has a golden chance to skim the bad impact of current defeats off his resume as his opponent is a rookie who is just striving hard to enter the light middleweight division.
The Moroccan proud, also known as the ‘The Messenger’, has been in a total 12 bouts and emerged victorious in 10. He has nailed five of his opponent by knockout and is coming from a draw decision over Tony Hirsch.
At the moment, Jesus possesses a clear upper hand over Said in almost all the aspects of the sport. Jesus is not only more experienced but he also has a pretty decent win and knockout ratio. Despite his recent losses, Soto is still an intimidating opponent
who can nail even the best men in the division and for now he seriously needs to make a comeback soon but this is only possible if he revamps his strategies and undergoes strenuous training and sparring sessions with top-notch pugilists.
Jesus must avail this opportunity because if he loses a bout now to a lad of least experience who resides far in the world rankings, it will definitely obliterate his remaining reputation.
