Notice the reaction that people have to Jesus after this incident - they reject him.  The people loved their swine more than they loved Jesus Christ.

There's a lot to learn in that passage.

The demons did not want to be sent directly to h**l which Jesus had the authority to do. By going into the swine, they could avoid immediate h**l. They probably did not expect the pigs to react so quickly to their awful presence in them. It is very stressful to demons to not have a body to dwell in.

DROWNING OF THE SWINE MEANT THE ALL  WOULD BE SAVED FROM THE DEMONS THAT WANTED SO BADLY TO CONQUER THE UNSAVED PEOPLE. AND MAKE THEM  THE SLAVES OF THE DEMONS.

JESUS WOULD PREACH TO THEM AND THEY WOULD ACCEPT THE LAWS OF GOD ;/ AND THE OLD UNCLEAN

WAYS WOULD VANISH AND A NEW LIFE WILL BEGIN

The are Jesus went to was essentially Gentile.  The casting out of demons to pigs was an astronomical event.  The delivered man testified and later Jesus returned to preach to them, when He fed the 4000.

Paul was not the 1st witness to the Gentiles, the demoniac man was and then later Jesus.
