How do you go about identifying the Truth- is Truth Relative?

For instance is the Catholic " truth" the same as a Protestant " truth?"

Jesus was a very wise man(not God of course)  The truth sets you free from worry about judgment,condemnation and punishment.. None of this happens..There is no h**l..You are free from the fear of death because God assures the salvation  of all (no exceptions)  The truth indeed sets you free in many difersent ways.. that scripture was talking about free from sin.  but, think of this.  have you ever mislead someone?  or lied?  or been lied to?  when you found out the truth, you were set free in your soul.  sometimes, a truth, may even hurt, but it will set you free from years of being deceived by someone, or to someone.  we can get over being hurt, eventually.  but we can not get over being deceived over and over for as long as it happens.  i have been set free and i was able to grow as a person, rather than being the one getting lied to constantly by a loved one.

so, Jesus was right in more ways than one about such a statement.  the truth, sets us free and our insides feel more peaceful.  we are free from torment, turbulence, anger, unforgiveness, eventually even hurt.

Free from all the false doctrines, superstition, paganism, mans philosophy's, false religions.  Man was created by God to live in perfection, to live forever, to never die. Satan threw a monkey wrench into the plan, and now God has got to fix it. Satan messes it up even more with demonic activities(Duet 18:10-12; Rev 21:8), false religion (Babylon the Great spoken of in the 18th chapter of Revelation), and wickedness (2Tim 3 1-5). Once you know the truth, you don't wonder why all this stuff is going on. Instead of blaming God(like God took him/her, it's God's will that they died a horrible death, or God must of needed them up in heaven, that's why he took so many at one time, like all the natural and man made disasters. It's no wonder that so many people are getting discouraged. Satan is the God of this system of things, how else could he offer them to Jesus? How are you free, Your have a free mindset from this polluted world, and you know the answers of what happens after death? Is there a hellfire? What's going to happen to the earth? Will you be around to see it? Will you ever see your loved ones that have fallen asleep in death? You will know the answer to all these question, & YOU WILL BE FREE !!

Free from the teachings of false religions.  Having a grand hope for the future and not living in fear.  Knowing God is taking in knowledge of him, what he hates and loves.  It also opens our eyes to what the world is taking as the truth of God.  I have no idea how other religions see truth but obviously it is not what we know it to be.

Now of course the next question would be: what "truth" is Jesus speaking about in this passage?

Have you ever taken a test in school that was True or False?  There wasn't a third choice was there?  Even our secular society tries to teach that there are only two choices in life - right or wrong.  Unfortunately, we try to add other possibilities to justify or rationalize our wrong actions.

There can only be one truth. Regardless of what the 'world' would like you to believe, there is no gray - there is only black or white.  Jesus says that you are either saved or lost; you are either blind or you can see; you either gather or scatter; you are either with Him or against Him you are either hot or cold - if you are lukewarm, He will spew you out of his mouth.

Back up and read John 8:30-31.  Before you can know the truth, you must believe in Jesus - that he is the Son of God and that He died to pay the penalty for your sin - and place Him first in your life.  THEN you will know the truth because the Holy Spirit will begin to reveal it to you.  Put Catholic, Protestant and all other religious 'systems' behind you and get into God's Word, asking the Holy Spirit to lead you through the only source of truth - The Bible - God's Word.

If you are not saved, you can never know the truth.  Seek first the kingdom of God, AND HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS, and all these things will be added to you.
