who can be the cause for stumbling others and who can be the one who is stumbled? And thos that stumble others, does that include religous leaders who have abused authority, sexually abused children, lied, misrepresented facts about individuals that led to harm.

And those who are stumbled are they members of religions who look to leaders as examples?

what is the application of this scripture :

Whoever stumbles one of these little ones who put faith in me, it is more beneficial for him to have hung around his neck a millstone and cast into the sea. Mattthew 18:6.

  1. He's talking about children there. The translation I remember says, "Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin..." so I always thought it meant not to lead children away from God.

  2. Raytay has got the scripture for you,SEE this we are to be as like children to believe in Jeus, and our Lord God. And when saved, you are called born again, and some people will cause you , they are going to get the same BUT all false profits will perish and be Gnashing of teeth, as said in the fallowing....

Mat 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if [it were] possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

Mar 13:22 For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if [it were] possible, even the elect.

2Pe 2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

1Jo 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

  3. I assume the sheep means to His followers aka those who believe in Him.

And little ones goes to His followers too.

Since Jesus loves all human, He will punish those who harm or hurt His follower. In short, Jesus is their father.

  4. Persons professing love of God and Christ need to guard their statements and actions. Otherwise, they may become guilty of stumbling one of Jesus’ “little ones,” or followers. Jesus himself made this very point in a dramatic way when he said:

“Whoever stumbles one of these little ones that believe, it would be finer for him if a millstone such as is turned by an *** were put around his neck and he were actually pitched into the sea.”—Mark 9:42; Matt. 18:6.

Millstones like those depicted here make Jesus’ statement very impressive. Turning the upper millstone called for an animal’s strength because it was four to five feet (1.2 to 1.5 m) in diameter. In view of the great size of such a stone, there would be no hope of survival for an individual cast into the sea with such a gigantic weight around his neck. Certainly, a strong encouragement to guard our words and deeds!
