I've looked everywhere for comfirmation but have yet to find it, so I figured I'd come here as a last resort. in the Jet Li movie: Fearless, Jet Li's choice of Chinese martial arts or Wushu as the movie refers to it, appears to be Baguazhang kung fu. The forms and movements apear deadly close to Baguazhang, so I was wondering if anybody knows if it's Baguazhang or not. And if it isn't, then what stye does he use?

  1. It is a stylized version of The Hua (or Huo) Fist.

The character was a real guy and he was reponsible for standardizing traditional wushu under the Chin Woo association.

What I saw in fearless was much more rigid than bagua.

  2. Actually, although the character taught his family's arts, the Hou Ga, the art Jet Li used were NOT Hou Ga.

This was clarified by the grandson of Hou Yuan Jia who is or was suing Jet Li for allegedly misrepresenting Hou Yuan Jia and Hou Ga.

Supposedly jet used his own arts instead of Hou Ga.

I don't know the differences between the two, and I definitely know there are differences, so I cannot judge what he used or didn't use.

    Great movie though!

Mizong was supposedly created by Hou Yuan Jia... Hou family boxing wias taught to him by his Father. So Mizong is part of it but not it. There were other arts. The art was actually Mizong Lohan - aka MiTzong Law Horn.

  3. I believe it is, he actually studies multiple martial arts though, so it could be combo's of many different styles?

  4. tai kwundo how eva u spell it
