Jewel finding?

i want to know what the places are called when you go to them pay like $10 or something they give you a bucket full of rocks and stuff and you look through them and if you find any jewels in there you get to keep them.. i have no clue what they are called and was really wanting to take my niece can anyone help?? and also what the places where you do that with oysters and pearls

I went to one of those in North Carolina.Its called a Jewel Mine or something and I found Emeralds and then i panned for Gold!
