I am going on a cruise with Royal Carribeans Jewel of the seas. I would like to know how your cruise experience on her was? Was the crew friendly? Did you like the food? Was the cabin (especialy balcony cabins) good? Good viewing spots? Serious answer only please! Johan

  1. The Jewel is one of Royal Caribbean's 4 Radiance Class ships and I have cruised on it and on one of its twin sisters, the Brilliance.  We cruised on the Jewel out of Boston for a 7 day New England and Canada cruise about a year ago.  We had a balcony cabin and chose the first dinner seating.  We also had a balcony cabin on the Brilliance for our 12 day Mediterranean cruise.

I have been on about 8 RC cruises and on its Freedom and Voyager class ships but my very favorite of all of their ships is the Jewel and Brilliance.  We will go on another in this class in September, the Radiance.

Our cabins on both cruises were lovely, the food was great and we had absolutely no problems with the service or staff anywhere in ship. Our cabin had a bed and a love seat and was very roomy.  It had enough closet space for all of our clothes, a mini-refrigerator, and the balcony was a nice size too.  What I like most about the ship is its layout (deck plans) and the fact that the Windjammer Cafe, where all of the buffet breakfasts, lunches and dinners are served, is open to the back of the ship for terrace dining.  That also means that the inside seating is not always crowded as it is in the Windjammer Cafes on other RC ships.  Plus its nice to sit outside and eat when the day or evening is pleasant;  watch the ocean go by and see the sunsets live instead of through a window.

I like the Solarium also because its usually quiet in there and comfortable for napping, adults only covered pool area.  Our wait staff was god and we have photos with them from both cruises.  Very good servers who brought whatever you want and friendly about it too.

I will go on the Jewel again just because I love that ship.

  2. Sounds like everyone has nothing but good things to say about RC. I bet you have a blast and it is always good to here people are not on Carnival. They enjoy s******g there customers. Happy Sailing.

  3. I have visited this ship before and i must admit, is one of my favourites, she is such a good size, not too big but certainly not too small!

I got to sample the food also, which was really good.

If you check this link, there is a good review on the jewel
