Jezki confident about the paddypower.com Future Champions Novice Hurdle
The four-year-old star gelding, Jezki, has safeguarded his form for the last three outings of this season and is now being pointed for the paddypower.com Future Champions Novice Hurdle. The race will give him the chance for extending his hat-trick. The race is scheduled for 27th December at Leopardstown.
"I was thrilled with his win at the weekend and I think he will probably run at Leopardstown at Christmas - after that I don't know," Harrington said.
The Mrs. John Harrington trained cracked open the season with a success in the O’Callaghan Hotels Supporting Kildare GAA Maiden Hurdle on 29th October, 2012 at Naas race course over two miles.
Joining teams with jockey, Barry Geraghty, the duo set the favourite entry of the race, Ally Cascade, second by ¾ of a length.
Jezki successfully extended his form in the Grade 3 Fishery Lane Hurdle on 10th November, 2012 at Naas race course over two miles.
With the same partner onboard, the favourite entry landed the race against Un Beau Matin, by eight lengths. The runner-up was trained by, Gordon Elliott.
Milan’s bay gelding out of, La Noire, then went on to strike the much deserved hat-trick in the Grade 1 Bar One Racing Royal Bond Novice Hurdle on 2nd December, 2012 at Fairyhouse race course over two miles.
The favourite entry, Champagne Fever, trained by, Willie Mullins, scored second after missing the winner’s enclosure by 1 ½ lengths.
Coming on terms with the third position was, Zuzka.
His eventual target of the campaign this year is pointed for the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle at Cheltenham by spring.
He will get to confront Don Cossack, Twigline and Waaheb in the field.
The connections have complete confidence in the potential and capability of the gelding who has been successful in the last three outings.
The rest of the contestants in the line-up have not been finalised as yet, but there is a highly likely chance that the four-year-old bay gelding will need to take down the respective entries of trainer Nicky Henderson and Paul Nicholls in order to nail the winner’s prize money of the race.
It will be a true delight for the connections if Jezki will post in a straight fourth success, it will give them a chance to decide the future options too.
