Jharkhand 236 & 27/0 (12.0 ov) v Himachal Pradesh 442/7d - Jharkhand trail by 179 runs with 10 wickets remaining
In http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Kumar-Shri-Ranjitsinhji-c71870 Trophy’s Group C match, Jharkhand trail by 179 with all wickets in hand against Himachal Pradesh on the third day of play at HEC International Cricket Stadium Complex, Ranchi.
After bolstering a first innings score of 236, Jharkhand restricted their opposition on 201 for four at stumps on the second day and it was imperative for them to continue their impressive bowling on the penultimate day.
With C http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Amit-Kumar-c44023 coming out to bat on Monday, there was still some hope for Himachal Pradesh to beat Jharkhand’s first innings score.
However, with four batsmen already back in the pavilion they could not afford to take too many risks.
Finally with 229 on the board, the batting side lost their first wicket of the day on the dismissal of Hemanth Kumar, who was given leg before wicket off Shukla with seven runs to his name.
Then before Amit Kumar could punish the fielding side a bit more, he was dismissed after clobbering a knock of 52, leaving his side standing on 278.
The fielding side was looking in control after taking these important wickets and seemed like ending Himachal Pradesh’s innings sooner than later.
However, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/R-Dhawan-c82968 and A Bhalaik had other plans as the duo forged a resounding partnership to leave their opponents in complete disarray.
The two batsmen pulled off a resounding save out of nowhere by taking the score to 434 before Dhawan, who hammered 128 runs fell to Gupta.
With A Bhalaik unbeaten on 50, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Himachal-Pradesh-c791 declared the innings with seven wickets down.
Jharkhand then scored 27 runs without the loss of any wicket as they ended the penultimate day.
Himachal Pradesh now have a very realistic opportunity of winning this match and for that they need to bowl out their opposition on the final day, otherwise if Jharkhand batsmen are allowed to bat longer they will surely end the game in a draw.
