Jharkhand 236 & 244 v Himachal Pradesh 442/7 dec - Match drawn
Ranji Trophy fans were left disappointed as they saw the Group-C match in the competition between Jharkhand and Himachal Pradesh, come to an inconclusive end on Tuesday, at HEC International Cricket Stadium Complex, Ranchi.
This proved to be another batting track as bowlers from both sides faced considerable problems in bowling out the opposition, while on the other hand, the batsmen had a splendid time batting on this Ranchi surface.
With Himachal Pradesh declaring their innings after having had smacked 442 for seven in reply to Jharkhand’s first innings score of 236, it was imperative for Jharkhand to bat well enough in their second innings to cause some sort of damage to the confidence of their opponents.
They ended the third day by posting only 27 without losing a wicket and knew they needed to bat the whole day on Tuesday in order to avoid a defeat by the hands of Himachal Pradesh.

The batsmen clicked on the right day as they provided their team a superb start by denying the opposition any breakthroughs.
The duo, exhibiting superb form, smashed the score to 195 and by this time they knew that the game was now not lost as they had managed to take it towards an imminent draw.
For Himachal Pradesh, the situation was depressing as they kept on trying hard to somehow get back in the match by grabbing a couple of quick wickets.
Finally Gurvinder Singh broke this lethal partnership when he managed to get Akash Verma caught by Malik after the batsman had clobbering a resounding knock of 117.
At last, after facing 91.3 overs in their second innings, Jharkhand ended the day on the demise of their second and final wicket, MS Vardhan who also went down against Singh after bolstering an innings of 94 runs.
Meanwhile, DA Chougule, stayed unbeaten on 20 as he saw his side post 244.
